Every other Sunday, Avenida Amazonas is closed to cars for the ciclopaseo. We walked from La Mariscal to Parque Carolina and then up to the Hotel Quito for panoramic views of Quito and Guapulo.

We actually had a hard time getting a taxi from our hotel in Old Town to the hotel in La Mariscal due to the closed roads throughout the city.

But we did enjoy seeing all the cyclists out also enjoying the day.

This statue of Abraham Lincoln confused us until we realized that the American Embassy is a block away.
