Underwater Photos!

In honor of our digital camera's fifth birthday, Bill threw it in the Caribbean! (well, first he put it in a plastic bag called an aquapac which kept it bone dry.) We swam around Francis Bay for a few days, snapping photos of everything lurking around the reefs! Many of the photos are a bit blurry and it was hard to frame things well since you can't see the camera's screen underwater, but some of these came out surprisingly well!

There are also some short videos at the bottom of the page.

these needle-nosed guys are always right near the surface. you can't see them from above the water so it's disconcerting to stick your face in the water and immediately see these foot-long fish!

these silver and blue fish are Bill's favorite. it's exciting when a school of them whooshes past you all at once.

Suzanne spotted this enormous stingray. It's body was probably 4 feet across and the stinger seemed REALLY long.

with an eye like that, you could tell it meant business.
