The Jungfrau Marathon and Our Final Day



Our last full day in the Berner Oberland was also the day of the Jungfrau Marathon. People come from all over the world to run in this crazy 26 mile race from Interlaken (elevation 566 meters) to Eigergletcher (we were there!) and Kleine Scheidegg (elevation 2100 meters). The race goes right through the middle of Wengen and right past our apartment so we were able to see the festivities up close and personal.

We rode the train down to Interlaken and just as we left Wengen, the marathon leader caught up to our train AND PASSED US! See img_2451 below.
