Death of a Tree
Shortly after moving we noticed that the beautiful large tree in the sidewalk treebox in front of our house had a large crack. After several thunderstorms the crack was steadily growing larger. It was clear that the tree was going to soon break apart and fall either on our house or on the cars parked on the street. We called the city (since the tree is city property) and they quickly assessed the situation and decided to cut down the entire tree. We were sad to see such a big tree felled, but are relieved that the tree will not come crashing into our living room. We hope that the city will be able to plant a new tree within the next year.
