Sea Gull Century: October 9, 2004

The perfect day for a perfect ride! We finished the 100 miles in a little under nine hours, during which we got to see some horses and got to walk on the beach! We felt great the entire day, but perhaps it was the brilliant sunshine and the general happiness and friendliness of the other 5,000 bike riders.

Sunday, we took the day to just relax and explore Salisbury a bit. They have a good zoo where Bill saw an ocelot
and decided it'd be a good friend for the cat, but Giselle was mean and convinced him not to bring it home. We also walked along the little river that runs through downtown and found a terrific restaurant called the Market Street Inn where we sat and had drinks and dinner on a wooden deck overlooking the river and watched the waitstaff feed the local turtles, geese and ducks extra dinner rolls while the sun set. Unfortunately, we forgot to bring the camera on our Sunday journey around Salisbury...but now we'll know some good places to hit next year!
