Paddling the Potomac in a Canoe
After leaving the zoo we walked upriver from Georgetown to the Fletcher
Boat House and rented a canoe for the afternoon. We saw many turtles
(tortoises?) sunning themselves on low-lying branches, but were too slow
with the camera to get a good picture. We tried several times to get a
picture of both of us using the timer, but did not attain full success.
We'll work on it for next time. (It's hard work to set up the
camera on a rock, then paddle to the correct position, then STOP
the canoe... all within 10 seconds!)
